When should I come?
Our shelters are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Come in right away if you are on the streets or in danger. We are always here.
What is this program?
SafeHouse has a 21-day program that will help you resolve the issues that are bothering you. We have an on-site school and counseling, both for you and your family. Our staff will work with you to help meet your individual needs.
Do my parent(s) need to know that I am here?
We do need to notify your parents or legal guardians that you are in a safe location.
Can I come and go as I choose?
The program is voluntary; you don’t have to stay if you don’t want to. But if you agree to stay we ask that you follow the program rules.
Can I have my cellphone and/or electronics? Send and receive mail?
While you are with us, we will keep your cell phone and electronics safe. You can make several phone calls a week to parents and others that can help with your program. And of course, you can send and receive mail.
Can I wear my own clothes?
Most youth who come in wear the clothes that we give to everyone. They are comfortable and fit everyone.
Do I have to share a room?
Yes, you can potentially share a room with one other person.
Can I go to my regular school?
Both shelters have on-site schools. We can help you evaluate where you are in your education journey and possibly earn some best to keep you current in school, so you don’t get behind.
What will I do when I am there?
In addition to having a safe place to stay we provide counseling, school and lots of fun activities. We have sports courts, games have fun at SafeHouse!
